Wedding Vue on Halcyon YV
We chose our wedding venue, Vue on Halcyon YV, provided the facilities and aesthetic we desired close to Melbourne. We had always wanted a winery or similar. We like the rustic-chic aesthetic. Our families are both big wine drinkers. I don’t really drink much wine (or beer) these days, but I like wineries still and I like the ambiance and the nice vineyards. Vue is where the wedding photography took place.

How we met: CALLIE: We met on the 15th of October 2017 as a blind date from a dating app. We met at an afternoon street market in North Melbourne and my first thoughts of Chris were that he was good-looking, warm and open. CHRIS: We met on Tinder in 2017, and as outlined in Callie’s answer, then went on a date at a North Melbourne street festival. My first thoughts were that she had a nice white top on and I liked that she had arrived on time and I liked her suggestion to share a jug of Sangria ($20 special if I recall correctly).
The Proposal: CALLIE: The proposal took place after a couple of false starts on the 13th of October 2022, in our living room and I couldn’t have been more excited. Chris initially feinted by setting it up as ‘I have some anniversary gifts to give you’ with a bouquet of flowers and a packet of my favourite chips before proposing with the ring. CHRIS: It was October 2022 in our living room at our apartment in West Melbourne (coincidently, about 300m from the street where we had our first date!). I felt a little nervous but also excited. The proposal took place by asking if she would marry me and I had a ring that was in the design she had specified she liked. It was a relief when she said yes, especially as I was a little sheepish that it wasn’t a big grand proposal.
