How we met: We met at Vanilla Lounge in Oakleigh. I thought he was a genuine and a good person – well travelled and smart. He thought I dressed sharply and he was pleased that I introduced him to a new coffee type. That day he tried a “dirty chai” for the first time.
The Proposal: The proposal took place in Corowa NSW by the Murray River on 11 June 2023. We were there for the Rutherglen Walkabout with our Grease Lightning costumes the day before so a proposal was the furthest thing from my mind. The day before I was wearing a Sandy wig! He asked me to go for a walk and he said we should check how deep the water is by the Murray. So that was his trick to get down on one knee. I got down crouching too, completely unaware. Then a tinny boat came riding past and swayed the pontoon jetty we were standing on. I got up and tried to ‘help’ him get up too, but he wouldn’t and that’s when he said, ” So, should we make this official”. I said “yes”, we hugged/kissed- I was surprised and very happy!
