Wedding at Brown Brothers Winery

Wedding at Brown Brothers Winery. Wangaratta is a special place for Clancy and Damien. Damo grew up there and Clancy has many memories of trips to Wangaratta to see her mums side of the family. Brown Brothers was prefect for their dream wedding, but Clancy never thought it would actually be a reality! Today it was. Clancy wore a gown by Rafael Cuica. Clancy said “Jess my brothers partner is doing our flowers and styling with the help of her family on the day and my brother for set up. Damo has made a lot of the decorations including timber tea light holders for the middle of the tables, signs for the ceremony, rose petal doilie cone holder, and arch for the ceremony. Many hours of labour has gone into the wedding! My cousins are doing the hair (they live in Wang and I have 3 cousins who are all hairdressers) its special to me that my family are involved in the day and the girls get to be there and share the excitement of seeing us all get ready.” The ceremony is officiated by the Dean, Ken, at Wang Holy Trinity Church. The Wedding Fair (Graham) was their videographer.
Scott and Amanda – two local muso’s and their guitars play into the night for the family and friends. Hayley photographed the wedding photos at Brown Brothers and the surrounding area.

Clancy also said “Our first meeting was in mum and dad’s driveway…Damo had come down with my uncle Glenn from Wang (my uncle used to train Damo on the bike) and Damo had ridden from a race back to mum and dads. I had just walked out the door to meet my girlfriends as Damo got home. My uncle introduced us then proceeded to awkwardly stand in between us looking back and forth as we said hello, like he was waiting for sparks to start flying! Well they did – for me anyway!!
The proposal was over in the Barossa Valley. I was there during the week for a work conference and Damo and I had planned for him to come over for the weekend to meet me. Little did I know he had re-arranged the whole weekend that I had planned for the proposal to take over!! This story could go on for hours but I’ll give you the shortened version – he organised with Dad to meet up at the Sandy pub one night to ask for permission, packed a suitcase full of my clothes (so I had extra for the special weekend as he knew I wouldn’t have had nice dresses and shoes for the fancy dinners), he missed his flight on the Friday (had to pay $600 to get on the next flight to Adelaide), finally got into the Barossa and collapsed into bed, got up the next day and checked us out of the accommodation I had booked for the weekend (which he had planned with the help of my boss), we spent the day doing touristy stuff (ie helicopter flights, wineries etc.) then he checked us into the most beautiful B&B called Jacobs Creek Retreat then went to a beautiful place called Hently Farm for dinner.

This is where he proposed J he first produced the most beautiful photo album made by the most incredible photographer ;) of all photos of our relationship then after 6 courses of the 12 course degustation thought he better pop the question before I got too tipsy!! He spoilt me rotten and we were both on cloud 9 for weeks after the weekend. Such a special time and so many special memories.”
