Vue on Halcyon celebration
We chose our wedding venue, Vue on Halcyon, to have our celebration. The owners are lovely people down there. We like that its on top of the mountain, fantastic views of the winery from Yarra Valley. Vue on Halcyon is where the wedding celebration and photography took place.

How we met: Firstly our mums were colleagues back in the days when they were still in Shanghai more than 20 years ago. But they didn’t get a chance to contact each other after moving to Melbourne. In the early 2019, their common colleagues traveled to Melbourne and visited Minye’s mun, and they mentioned about Mengfei’s mum. Then they found our homes were just 5 minutes’ drive from each other. Finally, both our families met and had dinner together.
Mengfei: My first impression of Minye is, he has a very long eyelash (^_^…) . We talked a lot during that dinner since I surprisingly found both of us love to watch Japanese TV shows and play Japanese RPG games. I think Minye has already left a deep impression on me during the first time I met him.
Minye: My first impression of Mengfei is, she’s a very quiet but very elegant girl. I saw she’s quiet until we started talking about jp tv shows and games. Lol, found out she’s a very talkative girl too. She opened her Japanese wine bought from Japan, and we started drinking. It was such a fun and enjoyable experience on that night. Later I found out that she can’t actually drink any alcohol, and on that day, we talked and drink no stop.
The Proposal: Minye booked a restaurant No.35 on Collins at 30/3/22, we had a great dinner and Minye took me to go to the same walking track while he asked me to be his girlfriend. It is a long track which will take us 1.5 hours walking around 7 km long. He’s talking a lot, about the future, about life, about us, and all of a sudden in the middle of the track, he kneels down to me and grabs the diamond ring, opens in front of me and asks if I wanna be his wife. Mengfei says Yes, and says to Minye that we all connect to a single life. We all touched on each other’s hearts, and cried. We walked to our car, Minye grab his well prepared rose hand to Mengfei,
Mengfei: I burst into tears when Minye put the ring on my finger. I had a feeling that Minye might propose to me when he asked me to go for dinner. So I tried to touch his right pocket and intended to find some clues (like a ring box). But nothing had been found and nothing happened during the dinner. So I was really surprised when he proposed to me on that walk track with a lot of memories, and showed me the ring in his left pocket. I’ve been waiting for this moment for too long. Someone I love found me, together with me, and finally promised to me.
Minye?i’m so nervous on that day since I knew it’s the time. It’s the time that i wanna give my heart to someone forever, to the one I love, the one i care, the one i wanna look after in my lifetime. So I organized the dinner, but I don’t wanna say too much about the restaurant since I know Mengfei don’t like too many people to see. So I took her to a very quiet track that we have the memory with, and did my proposal there. When She said Yes, I was completely shaking, and I couldn’t believe that we were together forever from this moment. I have someone that I can care for and love. I am not only myself anymore, it now includes Mengfei as we are bound together.
