Stones of the Yarra Valley, Wedding photography venue
It’s easy to forget city life as you stroll along the paths and tree-lined lawns of Stones of the Yarra Valley. Emerald hillsides roll into the distance and impossibly neat rows of lush grapevines frame the grounds — the perfect setting to begin photographing your picture perfect wedding day.
Set in beatific Coldstream, Stones is one of those rare gems that honours the authenticity of its origins. Built in the 1800’s the original buildings have been sympathetically renovated to retain the essence of their heritage, while the newer buildings have been designed to pay tribute to the period. If you have rustic in mind for your wedding theme, it doesn’t get more genuine than this.
A Barn Wedding
The Barn, a spacious dining room for receptions up to 180 guests, is favoured for its rough-hewn exposed beams and floor to ceiling windows with views to die for.
Scattered candelabras and old-worldly flower arrangements make for a soft-lit, dreamy scene, ideal for your Passion8 photographer to capture the perfect cake cutting and bridal dance shots.
The Chapel for your Wedding ceremony
The Chapel, with its creamy walls, stained-glass windows, and gorgeous chandelier, is a lover’s delight for exchanging wedding vows. Large and airy with timber pews, the chapel has ample space for your wedding photographer to capture all the best angles of your nuptials.
While you traipse off for your main photo shoot, your guests can wander over to the rustic Dairy with its vine-encrusted trellised forecourt. Located between The Chapel and The Barn it’s the perfect locale for indoor or outdoor pre-dinner drinks.
Weddings in the Stables at Stones
Having a smaller affair? The Stables’ vintage décor and authentic brickwork is perfect for events up to 63 guests.
Onsite accommodation is available at the Farmhouse at Meletos, a Tuscan style guesthouse with 23 boutique rooms. Or perhaps order a bus pick-up service – great for guests who are staying nearby and want to partake of world-famous Yarra Valley wines.
