Nestled in a leafy side street of Ripponlea, Quat Quatta was built in 1889 as a family home. It is now a significant piece of Melbourne’s history, classified by the National Trust of Australia, and one of Melbourne’s most popular inner city wedding venues.
From the welcoming white columns, intricate lacework and chequered marble verandahs extending on all sides of the venue, it’s no wonder one look wins hearts in an instant. Well-tended gardens provide ample opportunity for intimate bride and groom photoshoots and the magnificent tall hedges at the rear of the property provide privacy and sound protection from local traffic and neighbours.

Inside the property is even more breath-taking. White walls, neutral tones, high ceilings with beautiful stained glass skylights and stunning chandeliers, all work together to create a rich atmosphere of elegance and warmth. A beautiful parquetry dance floor provides space for a band and dancing, and a featured staircase gives the perfect spot for further romantic wedding photos.
Just inside the main door you will find a break-out lounge with a fireplace, soft couches and a grand piano — great for pre-ceremony drinks, or for guests to take a little breather during the night. The rear garden and terrace with paved courtyard is a lovely area for sunny, outdoor wedding ceremonies, affording plenty of room for all guests to view your nuptials. The tall green hedges with manicured arches make a perfect backdrop for group photoshoots.
The venue can cater for intimate weddings or events up to 150 guests and the service is first class with an extensive menu which has won the venue admission to the R.C.V Hall of Fame.
Just fifteen minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, Quat Quatta provides ample onsite parking and is walking distance from Ripponlea railway station. Nearby Nepean Highway gives easy access to resort accommodation in the beachside suburbs of St.Kilda and Elwood down to Brighton and beyond.
