Laura when asked why she choose the wedding reception and ceremony, said “We knew we wanted to get married in Melbourne. Having a spring wedding we wanted an indoor venue for the ceremony, and when we stumbled upon The Church of Bang Bang Boogaloo on Instagram we were so excited. The space is like nothing we had seen before! We both love amazing dining experiences (especially wine!), so the first thing we did was to go through the Good Food guide to get ideas of restaurants. We found Meat Fish Wine and fell in love with the photos. We loved the design of the restaurant, and luckily the food, wine & service were amazing so we were hooked. The venues were in easy walking distance to each other, which made them both perfect.” All the wedding photography took place in the Church of Bang Bang Boogaloo and at Meat Fish Wine.
There was no theme to the wedding except good food and wine. Laura’s sister, Holly is wore a red wine/burgundy tulle skirt, paired with a black silk top.

When asked how the met Laura said “We met in October 2009 at the Corner Hotel in Richmond when we were each out with friends. Donny had been out with friends to reminisce about the old days, and finished the night meeting Laura, who was the start of his new days. We got along instantly, and have been together ever since. Donny proposed on Christmas morning last year, at our home. It was perfect timing – Laura loves Christmas so much! After 6 years together we were spending Christmas day with both families for the first time (as Laura’s parents were visiting from Tasmania). We got to share a very special day with our families, and it is fair to say we hijacked Christmas.”
