Wedding reception at the Brighton Savoy
Jayani & Ashley choose the Wedding reception at the Brighton Savoy for their wedding because it was on the beach and it was perfect for their needs and budget. Jayani said “I am wearing a Sri Lankan Kandyian Saree, We bought it with my parents and aunts in Sri Lanka during our last visit to Sri Lanka.” Sharma Fernando did the hair and make up and the flowers were supplied by Sohara Fernando. Sohara Fernando also did the styling for the event. Prabhati Milton conducted a beautiful wedding ceremony in the Wellington Room at the Brighton Savoy. Niko’s Cakes supplied the cake and Stu from Stu Art videography filmed the wedding. All the wedding photography was taken at the Brighton Savoy and at Brighton Beach.

Jayani said “We met at Victoria University just at the start of our teaching course. We met along a corridor on the first day at uni when we were waiting for the first class- Teaching Middle Years Ashley was sitting in the corridor, I walked along the corridor looking for the lecture room and I asked Ashley whether it was the correct room. Then we started talking and sat together since then for every lecture. We enjoyed and helped each other at uni and spent great times with our multicultural group of friends from different countries (some who will attend the wedding). We got the same teaching rounds, same mentor, same classes to team teach, same staff room and same projects to work on.” Jayani said “We built a good friendship which turned into a relationship at the end of the course.” First thoughts on Ashley “He seems to be a very nice person. He definitely plays video games bcs he is wearing a blue superman shirt and with a satchel bag full of cartoon buttons pinned on to it. Looks cool and chilled.” Ashley’s thoughts “She is a pretty girl with kind and beautiful eyes. Looked a bit lonely and nervous.”
“The proposal took place on September 10th 2015, Ashley took me to the park near the uni where we first went out and we sat on a bench. When the sun started to set he took out the ring asked me to marry him. I was so happy and overjoyed.”
