Carousel Wedding Day
We chose our venue, Carousel, Albert Park Lake. We both grew up in Melbourne and have spent some time working around Albert Park, and running or walking there too. Food and Desire ticked all the boxes – we want to focus on amazing food, and dancing the night away. The Ceremony, North Balwyn Greek Orthodox Church is where we usually go for the Orthodox Easter services. I was born into a Catholic family, and found the Orthodox Church here really beautiful. It is also where I met some of George’s family for the first time, waiting outside in the cold on Good Friday at Easter time.

How we met: Nicole said “We were first introduced at work by a colleague at a Friday night drinks at The Long Room (now The George on Collins St). I thought George was cute, funny and when I saw him at work the next week thought he was very kind and had a nice smile. It wasn’t until a few weeks later at the Christmas party that we danced and kissed and George asked me out for our first date.”
George said “I had noticed Nicole at work before we were introduced and thought she was good looking, attractive and professional in the office. I was happy to be introduced that night at The Long Room. At the Christmas Party Nicole was fun and looking good in her green dress and santa hat!”
The Proposal: George took me away for the weekend after Valentine’s Day in 2018. He planned a beautiful 2 nights at Port Arlington, Starhaven Retreat 5 star BnB (Indented Head, Bellarine Peninsula). We regularly go away for weekends so I had no idea what he was planning. We had massages, a beautiful spa in our “deluxe suite” and views of the beach. On the balcony we were relaxing and he started acting a bit funny/nervous, then he took a deep breath and said “Nicole, I am the happiest that I have ever been in my entire life and I want to be this happy for the rest of my life…” and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! We were ecstatic and both crying happy tears and laughing.
