Originally built as an Italiante-style private residence in 1885, Butleigh Wootton has been registered with the National Trust since 1965. Its authentic architecture features intricate cornices, hand blown chandeliers, luxurious drapes, marble fireplaces and the piece de résistance — a magnificent, grand spiral staircase, famous for its prominence in incredibly romantic wedding photos.
With an intimate limit of 120 guests, Butleigh Wootton exudes the feel of an elegant dinner party. A polished wood dance floor to one side of the room provides ample space for guests to party without the sound overwhelming the whole room. Beside the main dining room is a lovely, cosy lounge with an open fireplace (gas) and couches — perfect for elderly guests, or new mothers, to take a breather in comfort.

Wedding Ceremony
A stroll to the back of the venue reveals a paved courtyard with silk-lined wedding ceremony marquee, complete with its own cherub fountain. Want to incorporate some sunshine into your nuptials? Simply step down to the manicured lawn and be surrounded by flowering shrubs. This area is ideal for group wedding shots. Lit up by night, both these areas create a pretty, romantic scene for pre-dinner drinks.
Food is always scrumptious here, featuring modern Australian and international inspired delights. Service is first class with patient and courteous staff.
The venue is only fifteen minutes from Melbourne CBD. Parking is available onsite, and a tram runs right past the front door, heading down to Glenferrie Station. Nearby accommodation is only a six minute walk away at the Best Western on Cotham Rd.
