Autumn Wedding Ballara
We chose our venue to have our autumn wedding Ballara, We originally wanted to do something in the Yarra Valley but it was way too expensive when you factored in venue hire, food, cake, decorations, the DJ, etc.. Ballara consolidates literally all of that and makes planning it an absolute breeze. Ballara receptions is where the wedding photography took place.

How we met: We met on Tinder and swiped right on each other, nearly 5 years ago. We got talking to each other and really hit it off.
Sam: My first thoughts of Carly was that she was gorgeous, interesting and really switched-on.
Carly: I thought he was just so cute and made me laugh straight away.
The Proposal: Sam: I proposed to Carly on the 5th of May 2018. It’s a bit of a funny story – We were planning to go on a little adventure out to the Yarra Valley for the weekend and I knew that I wanted to propose to her at Alowyn Gardens. I didn’t have the money to buy a ring. I was going to buy a cheap ring from Prouds or Michael Hill and then save money for a proper one. When I asked Carly’s mother for her blessing, she offered her great aunt’s ring which is something like 90 years old.
When we got to Alowyn, I was wearing a pink hoodie that she doesn’t like. We also hadn’t had breakfast or coffee yet, so she was a little irritable. We walked around and I was gonna ask someone to take a picture of us and I’d get down on one knee and propose, but there wasn’t really anyone else around. I remember we were standing there and I’m looking around and she says “what are you doing, why don’t you just go get someone already?!”. I awkwardly mumbled something and then got on one knee and proposed. We took a selfie after she said yes. She still gives me grief over wearing that pink hoodie that day.
Carly: I was so shocked and overjoyed when he got on one knee, as I didn’t expect it at all. We had been talking about getting engaged but as I could see his bank details I didn’t think he has bought a ring. I was so excited I forgot about his hoodie for a while, and started calling my family and friends straight away.
